Unification Consultation Sessions – January 2026

Following our update to clubs in November, Sussex County Golf and Sussex County Ladies Golf Association have published detailed information on the potential unification of the two organisations on the Sussex County Ladies Golf Association website here.

The unification page includes background information, a presentation outlining the proposals, a Q&A section responding to questions raised to date, and a form for submitting further questions. Clubs and members are encouraged to review this information in advance, as it will form the basis of the discussion during the consultation sessions.

As part of the consultation process, two online information sessions will be held on Wednesday 28 January 2026. These sessions are intended to provide an overview of the proposals, explore key points in more detail, and offer an opportunity to ask questions.

Session 1 – Clubs & Voting Representatives

Time: 10:00am
Audience: Club managers, officers, and voting or proxy voting representatives

This session will focus on:

  • the background to the unification discussions
  • proposed governance and structural principles
  • the consultation process and next steps for clubs
  • how decision-making and voting will take place

Session 2 – Members & Players

Time: 7:00pm
Audience: Players, members and the wider Sussex golf community

This session will focus on:

  • why unification is being explored
  • what the proposals could mean in practice
  • what would and would not change
  • how questions and feedback are being gathered during the consultation period

Further information

The consultation period will remain open until the end of January. In addition to the information sessions, questions can be submitted at any time via the unification page. Where appropriate, responses will be added to the Q&A section to help ensure information is shared openly and consistently.

While any formal decision will be taken by affiliated clubs, we recognise that this process is of interest to the wider Sussex golf community and are committed to keeping information clear, open and accessible throughout the consultation period.
