Morrice Foursomes Finals

​The semi-finals and finals of the Morrice Foursomes were played on Monday 20th September at Nevill Golf Club. 43 Sussex Golf Clubs took part in the annual knockout, starting in Spring of this year. The semi-finalists were East Sussex National v Dyke and Worthing v Chichester. 

Matches on the whole were close with Dyke GC and Worthing GC reaching the afternoon finals.

After a quick lunch East Sussex National were back out to play against Chichester for third or fourth place, with Dyke and Worthing following in the final. The weather turned a little warmer and all were desperate for a win.  East Sussex National were beaten by Chichester so they were the victors which give them 3rd place.

The first match in the final between Dyke GC and Worthing GC was very close and they had to go down the first, but in the end they were called in as Dyke’s 2nd and 3rd matches were victorious.  Congratulations to all the teams for a great days golf.

Thanks must go to Leilla Humphries, Nevill Lady Captain. We also thank Nevill Golf Club for hosting this event for us. It’s never easy for the hosting clubs when we require morning and afternoon tees, including playoff holes, while they try to keep their members and green fees happily playing on the course, so we are hugely grateful for their patience with us.
