Spring Rumble results

On a wonderful ‘Spring-like' sunny day, we held the SCLGA Spring Rumble at East Brighton Golf Club. Fifteen teams from fourteen clubs were represented. The course and the greens were in immaculate condition, which all of the players appreciated. 

With a challenging course, players rose to the occasion, with some of the teams recording very good scores.  Amazingly, 1st and 2nd positions were decided on countback.  All of the house competitors appeared to enjoy their day, with East Brighton’s Lady Captain Marion McClymont and her team of helpers excelling themselves wherever and whenever help was needed around the club and course. 

The results were as follows:

1st   Judith Dingle (Royal Ashdown Forest), Jill Nichalls (Mid Sussex) and Sarah Brooks (Haywards Heath) with 70 points

2nd   Anne Eves, Ann Prior and Celia Schultz from Pyecombe with 70 points

3rd   Barbara Parker, Frances Cheney and Lorraine Dunabin from Golf at Goodwood and Chichester with 67 points. 

Nearest the Pin on 4th hole -  Val Dickens from Singing Hills

Nearest the Pin in two on the 2nd hole - Clare Strong from Haywards Heath 

Best front 9 with 34 points -  Rowena Bromwich, Gill Maynard and Robyn Inskip from Willingdon

Best Front 9 with 34 points - Clare Strong, Lorna Tuttle and Heidi Robinson from Haywards Heath
