Junior Girl County Championship 2025

After appalling weather led to the Championship being abandoned part way through back in May, we were welcomed by glorious weather at the Dyke on Monday 28th July for the rearranged event. The Girl’s Junior County Championship ran alongside the Junior Boy’s Championship. It was wonderful to see so many talented young golfers from across the County playing. The future of Sussex golf looks very bright!

The competition is run over two rounds of medal with prizes awarded for Scratch, U15 and Nett. The overall result for Junior County Scratch Champion was very, very close with three girls separated by only one stroke.

Scratch Championship

• Junior Girl County Scratch Champion: Ella Mansfield (West Hove) with rounds of 80 & 79,
• Runner Up: Elena Teubler (Nevill) with rounds of 83 & 76,
• 3rd place: Sophie Jones (Piltdown) with rounds of 79 & 81.

U15 Girl County Scratch Champion:

• 1st place: Ella Mansfield with total score of 158,
• Runner up: Sophie Jones with a total score of 160,
• 3rd place: Olivia Corbin from Chichester with a total score of 163.

Junior Girl County Nett Champion:

• 1st place: Ella Mansfield with a nett score of 128,
• Runner up: Amelie Knight (Royal Eastbourne) with a nett total score of 135
• 3rd place: Elena Teubler with a nett total score of 141.

A huge thank you goes to the Dyke for hosting the event so brilliantly, our referees on the day, Holly Crompton for managing the scoring and results and finally the entire team at Sussex County Golf (Emma, Eve and Cody) for partnering with SCLGA to deliver a brilliant Championship event for Sussex Junior girls and boys.
