Sussex 2's v Middlesex - Stovold Trophy

Sussex 2nd team took on Middlesex in the Stovold Trophy at home on Monday 21st July. With a dreadful weather forecast, including thunder and lightning, the teams were welcomed to Ifield Golf Club.

The morning set off with the foursomes. Sian Southerton (Bognor GC) & Tracy Poulsom (Royal Ashdown Forest GC), Emma Bullock & Sam Morfee (both of Worthing GC) and last out Emma Morgan (Crowbrough GC) & Sara Whittaker (Willingdon GC). The weather threatened and then the skies cleared and the team came in with wins all round. 3 great points to take us into the singles. 

Lunch and back out with Sussex needing 2 more points to take the win.

With some great play all round Sussex managed to achieve 5 out of 6 wins in the singles with only 1 game going down the 18th.

A great day spent amongst friends from Middlesex some of whom we have played against for a number of years. Let's hope the team can put in another good performance later in August when they travel away to Surrey and Kent!
