The intrepid Sussex Senior Team were on the road for the 2nd match in a week - the M25 and north circular to be precise to play Middlesex at beautiful Highgate GC.
The strength and depth of our Seniors shone through as Rachelle Black (Willingdon) and Jacs Marlio (Royal Ashdown Forest) came into the team and played amazing to win their games. Karen Sykes (Worthing) led the charge against an old adversary Lulu Houseman, we won’t mention how many years they have known and played each other but it ended in an honourable half on the last. Captain Clarissa (West Sussex) won her game despite having to take care of her charges and doing the admin. Katherine Russell (Royal Ashdown) won convincingly and Paula Carver (Worthing) completed the set to give Sussex a 5.5-0.5 win and remain unbeaten.
A big thank you goes to Middlesex for their generous hospitality and providing a magnificent golf course again which was suffering due to lack of rain but the greens never disappoint.
The Seniors have a few weeks to recharge (ice baths, sports massages aplenty) before taking on Kent and Essex in August - we’ll keep you posted of the results.
