Copthorne Centenary Celebration

Copthorne Centenary Celebration, Thursday 3rd July

Last week saw Copthorne Golf Club celebrate their centenary year by inviting Lady & Vice Captains (or 2 committee members) from Sussex clubs. Whilst many clubs celebrate their 100 years since the club was formed, very few have any records of when their Ladies section was formed. 

A Copthorne lady member played with each invited club and competed in a team event with 2 scores out of 3 counting. SCLGA County Captain, Margaret Brown and County President, Bali Bassan were invited and joined by the Copthorne Lady Captain, Carole McGuire.  Sadly the SCLGA team didn't win, although Margaret did manage to win nearest the pin on one hole.

Guests were treated to a lovely buffet, a glass of fizz and cake to toast the occasion.

A very enjoyable day for all. Thank you Copthorne GC.
