What a marvellous day for the inaugural event of the Autumn 9 Challenge at Horam Park GC today! The weather was almost perfect, not too hot, not to cold and more importantly the threatened rain did not materialise.
Seven teams of three players representing five clubs played a team game in good spirits on this challenging course with its fair share of water filled penalty areas.Sadly no one reached the green in one on the 5th hole but three ladies made the green in one over a daunting pond onto the 7th green to be awarded with a County inscribed pen. The success of the day was due to the positive attitude and good spirits of all concerned.
The Lady Captain Marion Sandwell held a raffle that attracted £149.00 for her charity, Liz the General Manager went the extra mile to ensure everyone had what they needed, the Catering staff of Sam and the excellent pastry chef Sue hardly stopped all day and most of all it was the players who made it special, none of whom went home empty handed as those who did not win a prize received an SCLGA ball maker as a memento of the day.
