Girls Pathway into Golf
There are coaching opportunities for all abilities. Our aim is to:
- Promote and encourage play at all levels.
- Identify and nurture talent.
- Develop our elite golfers and select teams to represent the county.
We have an extensive Coaching Programme and progression plan which invests in improving the standard of golf for players of all ages and skills levels. Coaching takes place throughout the year and at various locations around the County.
2021 Junior Coaching Programme
The Summer Coaching sessions for the Junior Girls begin in May. All ages and abilities are very welcome at Mid-Sussex Golf Club. Our Coaching Programme dates for 2021 are:
SATURDAY 1st & 29th May
SATURDAY 19th June
SATURDAY 17th July
Session times: 10am to 12mid-day, featuring indoor coaching & on course practice.
Total cost: £10.00 per session.
Our Winter Training takes place with Ryan Fenwick from West Hove and the schedule has been sent to the Elite Squad.
After this year’s success at the JCMW and the South Region Girls’ Championships it is important that we build on those achievements to gain further honours. There are a number of girls who have now been promoted to the Elite Squad by reducing their handicaps and they will be invited, along with the established members, to improve their skills and game management at these sessions.
Contact Louise Simmons for more information and on her M: 07590 848720 or H: 01424 772107
We’re also looking for ‘improving’ juniors to join the Sussex Golf Junior Academy. If you, or anyone you know, is a junior golfer looking to progress and develop their skills, play and learn more about golf as well as meet other girls to have fun playing, the Junior Academy is just the place. The Academy will run alongside any coaching that is already taking place, and is designed to complement their training.
If you have any questions, please email Christine Knight or call 01403 262194.
The SCLGA runs beginners training programmes at Mid-Sussex and Haywards Heath Golf Clubs. These sessions will offer the girls fun activities, shot technique and application as well as experience on the golf course. They are designed to work in conjunction with other club training schemes and give the girls an opportunity to play with other like-minded girls. Details of the training programmes will be available later this Spring.
