45 Sussex clubs were represented at the Kathleen Rider Competition at Ham Manor Golf Club. The host club was welcoming from the very start with parking attendants on hand, ball spotters, the Lady Captain, Angie Tellyn and her Committee helping the day to run smoothly. Their very own “Banksy” Greenkeeper created a fantastic first tee logo to start the day!
Thanks also go to County Captain, Ann Carnegie, and Vice-Captain, Pat Johns, who braved the cold weather to start everyone on the first tee from 8am until the last team went out at 1.35pm. The June weather was blustery, chilly and, at times wet, so the beautiful course became a challenge to all who played – is it really Summer yet?! Very well done to all competitors who braved the changeable elements!
The winners of the day were Sweetwoods Park, represented by Jackie Reed, Barbara Podbury, Jo Gregson-Williams and Bie Clinton with 65 points.
Runners-up were Cottesmore, represented by Jill Lewis, Catherine Malins, Christine Knight and Viv Lyons.
