In anticipation of the Solheim Cup which begins on Friday 13th September (unlucky for some!), Singing Hills ran their very own ‘Solheim Cup’ on 5th September with 24 ladies participating. The format was interesting with 6 holes of roulette (multiplying the pairs Stableford scores on each hole), then 6 holes better ball, followed by six holes singles… each section scoring 1 point.

The two senior players, Maureen Glynn and Rose Wright, were the starters, kept score and finally ‘putted out’ for everyone on the last hole of the singles!!  A great inclusive idea . .. especially when team results relied on the last putts!

As can be seen in the photos… everyone dressed appropriately, adopting a very patriotic approach to all of the matches – there was much laughter and fun by all.

The final score was 13 – 7 to USA … let’s hope the result is reversed next weekend up at Gleneagles!
