64 Seniors, Veterans and Methuselahs from 19 Sussex clubs endured the rather tropical conditions at Piltdown today in the SCLGA Seniors Meeting. The morning began with some cloud but the sun soon broke through to give wall to wall sunshine for most of the morning. Sadly the claxon was sounded during the afternoon foursomes when torrential rain and thunder disrupted play and some of the ladies returned to the clubhouse for a short, but welcome comfort break!

Aileen Greenfield, Winner of Scratch Prize
This did not prevent some incredible scores from being recorded by the Pyecombe contingent of Aileen Greenfield and Karen Henderson who won the Scratch and Handicap Cups respectively. The runners up also scored well on a course where it was important to remain straight and out of the heather!

Karen Henderson, Handicap Winner
Thanks should go to the Piltdown Lady Captain of Penny Purvey, and the lady members from Piltdown who proved invaluable in the ball spotting. Thank you to Phil Bonsall, General Manager for his support in running the competition.
