The Sussex Senior team travelled to Royal Ascot GC on Wednesday 12th September to play the second of the 2018 friendly matches.  A stones throw away from Ascot Racecourse, the course is relatively short but, at times, a very tricky parkland course.  Despite an early threat of rain showers the weather remained dry with not a breath of wind.

Playing 4 ball better ball the team was:

Pam Homer (Golf at Gooodwood) & Kathy Donohoe (Chichester).   Lost

Alison Vermes (Pyecombe) & Jacs Marlio (Royal Ashdown Forest).   Won

Jenny Hughes (Willingdon) & Rosie Hockey (Royal Ashdown Forest).    Won

Alicia Phillips (East Sussex National) & Carol Smith (Golf at Goodwood).    Halved

The matches were played in great spirit and it proved to be very close with all of the games going to the 17th or 18th hole.  The Sussex ladies just held on to win the day 2 ½  to 1 ½ .

Thanks were given to the Berkshire Ladies for their hospitality and to Royal Ascot GC for a providing an excellent meal afterwards.
