Louise Simmons, CJO, reports on the Juniors winter/spring training break at Princes. This was the first time the girls have enjoyed training in February. The intention had been to go abroad to warmer conditions, but circumstances didn’t allow – and they took the opportunity to train at the fabulous Princes Golf Course in Sandwich.
The girls who enjoyed this fantastic experience were:
Katie Field (Junior Captain)
Each morning Rob challenged and educated the girls with his ten point “Ladder Challenge” (different challenges each time). The girls loved the competition and two of the newer players excelled by completing the ladder.
They played the Shore on Monday afternoon and Dunes on Tuesday afternoon. Both courses brought great teaching opportunities and the chance for all, both new and long-standing members, to experience more match play competition.
Louise reports that they were looked after superbly by the management and staff at Princes, and cannot thank them enough for the opportunity……the Lodge at Princes was ideal for small groups and the courses were in brilliant condition, with challenging well maintained greens, despite the weather conditions over the past month.
Sounds like an ideal couple of days of preparation for the year ahead!
