Sandra has been involved with the SCLGA in one way or another since 2003 when she joined the County Committee and within a year was appointed as Honorary Secretary for 6 years until 2010. She subsequently served on the SLC & SGA Committee as Vice Captain and then Captain through to 2012.
It was hard to keep Sandra away, maintaining her ties with the County as County Match Week (CMW) Trolley Puller Organiser attending all County Match Weeks and Finals until CMW in 2014 after which she was appointed County Vice-Captain. She became County Captain in 2015 for 2 years, then Past-Captain for a year before finally stepping down from County Committee in November 2018! She’s been a very, very busy lady!
She reports that “She’s had an amazing time on the County forging long term friendships as can be seen from my entry into croquet with Mel, Di and Jane who were on the Committee in 2003. They are just 3 of many who I meet up with at least once a year. It’s been an honour to have served on the Committee.”
Sandra moves onto a quieter time off the main SCLGA Committee but looks forward to the challenge as 2nd Team Manager – she’s well aware that Tessa Stockwell is a hard act to follow, winning the Stovold Trophy from 2015-2017 but she’ll give her very best. Sandra has enjoyed working with the Junior girls, loves the involvement at Junior County Match Week every year, and is especially excited that in 2019 JCMW will be at Haywards Heath where, needless to say, Sandra is now Club President.
Enjoy your well earned rest!
