We headed out for the morning foursomes feeling positive but luck wasn’t on our side, which proved to be the case throughout the day…Lizzie Price and Sasha Gardiner won their match on the 18th having been 3 down after 4 holes. We lost one and halved the other.
Going in to lunch we were all square with all to play for in the afternoon. Elodie was 1 over gross for the front 9 but 2 down against Kent’s lowest handicap player off +3. She continued to fight and play well but it was not to be. Fenella played well to win 2&1 and Brandy had a convincing 7&6 win.
The rest of the team fought hard but things went against us including the final match, when Kent managed to clinch overall victory 5 to 4.
We are very proud of the girls for the spirit, commitment and desire shown to do Sussex proud.
Looking forward again to a competitive match against Hampshire tomorrow.
