Today, Sussex met Surrey in their first match.  Despite some good performances, two of the foursomes matches in the morning didn’t go our way but Elodie and Brandy had a good 5&4 win, playing superbly.

We started the afternoon singles in a positive frame of mind, led by our County Champion, Elodie.  She narrowly lost to Surrey’s champion on the 17th and the matches behind were nip and tuck until the final holes when Surrey came out on top by a narrow margin.

Lizzie Price played really well and won her singles match 2up.  One of our rookies, Sasha Gardiner, earned a well deserved half point by hitting an amazing 7 iron in to the 18th green which she then converted.  Salysa Mason did herself proud on her debut and put up a good fight.

Spirits are high and it is still very much all to play for.  We are looking forward to tomorrow when we meet Kent.
