PrintWell done Sussex Ladies 1st team – they were crowned Team of the Year at the Sussex Sports Awards on Friday night at The Grand Hotel in Brighton. With around 25 different teams entered, they were thrilled to make the short list.  On Friday night with nerves and tensions riding high, they pipped Bexhill Giants Basketball and Worthing Men’s Water Polo Teams to win the coveted title.

It was the icing on the cake in recognition of the culmination of everybody’s hard work over the past 18 months with extensive preparations to win County Match Week at Worthing and then going on to become Runners Up at the National Finals in September.

 

Too many folks to mention here, but well done and congratulations to all the players and the support network that made it possible – what a year for Sussex ladies golf!

It was such an achievement and really puts ladies golf on the map, beating so many other teams – mens and youngsters from higher profile sports – winning was the cherry on the cake for 2015! When it was announced the cheers and emotions really exploded…… we all enjoyed a good dance at the party until midnight!’
