The field of 56 players had to contend with some tricky conditions on the first day of the County Championship played at East Brighton today. The course was in wonderful condition, but the wind presented plenty of challenges! The top 16 are now drawn for the match play event which starts at 8.30 on Saturday.
The Langridge Salver was retained (again!) by Katherine Russell of Royal Ashdown Forest with a fantastic 155 (74/81) winning by a 9 shot margin from runner up Daisy Kane of West Sussex (79/85). Pictured at the presentation with Di Langridge.
The Sussex Club Scratch Trophy, new for 2014, was kindly donated by Clarissa Bushell of West Sussex. Congratulations to the West Sussex players for winning the trophy with the best three gross scores 152/164/165.
Two stunning rounds today saw Daisy Wakelin of East Sussex National posting 149 (76/73) to win the Stobart Cup for best scratch score as well as the Grant White Cup for best net score. The trophy presentation will be made on Sunday.
