Day 3 saw us trying some new foursomes pairings, with Jelina partnered in her first foursomes match with Emma, and our Champ Alice playing with Nikki. Alice & Nikki managed to notch up our first foursomes win of the week, 2 up, well done girls.
The afternoon saw some really spirited golf from our youngsters, with Paula caddying for Emma and Karen caddying for the 2013 Junior Champion Jelina. Her match was really notable, with Jelina leading all the way and only narrowly losing out to Kerry Smith, a Curtis Cup player, who birdied the last – wow!
Amber was level par on the back 9 to halve her match. Emma led the team out, securing a half in her match, and the ever calm and collected Chelsea secured a win on the last, with Katherine closing out 2 up, the afternoon singles saw us draw 3-3. Again, some really tight games, nail biting stuff that could have gone either way, but sadly we’d left ourselves too much to do after the foursomes in the morning.
Tomorrow is our well earned rest day, so we’re putting our feet up! There won’t be a Captain’s Log tomorrow, but the results from the other matches will still be available here on the web site. Surrey are currently looking in very good shape!
