The Beryl Pockett Meeting was played at Highwoods yesterday. The weather started off extremely hot, but after a very short heavy downpour early afternoon, the temperature cooled a little.

There was a very small field of 23 players this year in the Beryl Pockett, and only 6 players played in the 2nd round for the Veterans Championship, 5 of which just played 18 holes.

The Beryl Pockett Salver, normally a 72 hole aggregate with scores from todays rounds combined with Championship played in May (unfortunately only 23 holes).

Congratulations to the winner Karen Sykes from Worthing with scores of 97 + 148 = 245.  Coming a close second and runner-up with 97 + 150 = 247 was Ellen Nicholas from Ham Manor, who is one of our County Juniors who is enjoying a great season of golf (and will play in Junior County Match Week).

Congratulations to Veterans Seniors Champion Iona Mckean from Cottesmore with aggregate gross stableford scores from today and 1st round played at the Seniors event at Piltdown of 29 + 34 = 63.

Runner-up from Royal Ashdown Forest was Rosie Hockey 25 + 25 = 50
