Alanna Ross’s dream of finishing on a high playing for her home club was achieved last week when she won the “Ladies Stableford Winners Competition” at Dale Hill. At just 12, she was the only junior to compete in the event, but that clearly didn’t phase her. She finished with 39 points against a field of 17 lady members who had all qualified for the event.
Alanna has been playing golf since she was five, and she’s no stranger to competitions. She is the youngest member of the Sussex Girls Elite Squad and she’s bagged several net wins including the Junior Girls Spring Meeting (Dale Hill) and the Sussex Girls Masters (Bognor Regis).
Over the last few years she has shone through the British Junior Golf Tour competitions, coming 2nd in the seasonal finale at Foxhills and consequently being interviewed for Sky Sports Game Changer Golf Special.
Dedicated to improving her game and sharing the joy of golf with other girls, she also uses her free time to volunteer as Girls Golf Rocks Ambassador at Dale Hill. There she also plays for the junior team too and is featured in the Hall of Fame for finishing with the highest stableford points (52) at the Junior Captains Day when she was only 10 years old!
Sussex Juniors will all miss her as she relocates to Northern Ireland to expand her golfing skills and follow her dream. Good luck Alanna!
