Chris started playing golf in 1990 at Goodwood Park. Once she joined Goodwood she became assistant Handicap Secretary in 2001 and Lady Captain in 2005 (the last one!).  Our County Handicap Adviser, she was appointed Regional Adviser for England Golf in 2014. Chris says she’s already answered 600+ handicap queries via the England Golf web-site!

Ann is County Captain 2017-2019.  Her mother encouraged her to play golf in 1992 and by 1995 she was Lady Captain of Selsey.  She then joined Goodwood and was Ladies’ Secretary.  Having completed 6 years as SCLGA Secretary, Ann became County Captain in November 2017 for a 2 year tenure.  With a handicap of 11, she is a regular Division 1 player. Ann’s 2nd year as Captain is underway and she’s pleased to have Pat Johns as her Vice Captain.

Pat’s been playing golf since 2000 and her handicap is 10. She began golfing at Hassocks and moved to Cottesmore in 2005 where she became Lady Captain in 2015. Pat recently joined Dyke Golf Club. She served on the County Committee for 5 years as Junior Organiser from 2013-2017 and really enjoyed the experience, learning about the County organisation and working with the girls. She’s excited to become County Vice-Captain and looks forward to making a contribution to the SCLGA.

Judith joined the SCLGA team in 2015. She started playing golf just over 25 years ago and has been a member of East Sussex National for 20 years. She is a regular Division 1 player and is currently the Team Captain. Her handicap is 10 and she says she’s working hard to get it back down to single figures! She’s proud that East Sussex National won the Morrice Foursomes in 2018.

Carol took up golf on a regular basis in 1999 and joined Selsey – her first half set of golf clubs came from Ann Carnegie! She became County Registrar in 2011 and in 2013 become SCLGA Treasurer. Carol is a member of Goodwood, plays off 5 and has represented the County in both the 2nd Team and Seniors. This year Golf at Goodwood won the Kathleen Rider Foursomes and Carol was part of the team.

Jacs started golf in 1997 when her youngest son was in a pushchair!  She’s been playing golf ‘seriously’ for 10 years and plays off 5. Her first club was Seaford, but joined Royal Ashdown Forest in 2009 and plays in their 1st team and the Sussex Senior squad. Jacs is responsible for the SCLGA comms through it’s website and social media sites (Facebook and Twitter).

Sue represents Sussex at national level with England Golf. She took up golf over 20 years ago to join husband Ray, an avid golfer who is Treasurer of the Sussex County Golf Union and actively involved in a variety of roles within England Golf. Although she’s not managed to get her handicap below 30, Sue says she’s still just as keen and very enthusiastic to be involved in “social golf”!

Louise started playing golf in 2003 and has been an active member at Dale Hill for over 10 years, becoming Lady Captain in 2013, and often representing the club in Div 2 matches. Louise helped reinstate the Junior Section at Dale Hill, became a level 1 coaching assistant, and has now been Junior Organiser for over 2 years, building a strong community of juniors who are passionate about their golf. Louise is the County Junior Organiser and has had a terrific first year introducing over 10 new juniors to the squad and introducing Girls Golf Rocks into Sussex.

Joining us in 2014, Wendy first hit a golf ball over 25 years ago.  In her time at Haywards Heath she has been Handicap Secretary, Division 2 Captain and Ladies’ Captain in 2007 as well as Captain of SLC & SGA in 2009.  Her handicap is now 16 and she’s pleased to have retained her spot in the Haywards Heath Div 2 team! She’s very much looking forward to Haywards Heath hosting Junior County Match Week in 2019!

Caroline was encouraged to play as a youngster by her father, but other sports and a career as a P.E. teacher got in the way.  Moving to Sussex she joined Chichester in 1994 soon after it opened.  Since then she has been Competition Secretary, Handicap Secretary and Lady Captain (twice!).  Playing off 10 she is a regular Division 1 player. On the County Committee for 2 years now, she is responsible for the Division 3 Inter-Club Competition.

Pat joined the SCLGA team in 2015.  She took up golf over 25 years ago and has been hooked ever since.  She served on the Nevill GC Ladies and Centenary Committees and was Lady Captain in 2015. Currently playing off 18, she plays for the club in Division 2 and is determined to reduce her handicap in 2019.  Pat is responsible for Div 4 and the Glenda Ricketts Memorial Salvers Competition.

Bali’s sister convinced her to take up golf in her 40’s overruling plans to wait until retirement! Starting at East Brighton, she then joined Dyke GC in 2003, and since retiring she’s playing much more.  On the ladies’ committee from 2012, she was Lady Captain in 2014, and has been Captain of the Div 3 team.  She says she’s always trying to improve her handicap of 24! Sue has been a member of Royal Ashdown for over 10 years, and is presently Vice-Captain. She has held various Committee positions in the past including Handicap Secretary and Junior Girls Organiser. Sue has completed Part 1 of the England Golf Rules exam. She plays off 14 and is a key member of the ladies team playing in Divisions 1 and 2. In 2019, Sue will be responsible for running the Morrice Foursomes.

Jill plays golf at Singing Hills where she has been a member for over 10 years. She has captained the Morrice Foursomes team for the last three years and has deputised for the Division 1 captain when needed. Jill has recently retired as Head of a PE Department and is keen to be involved in the SCLGA Committee. During 2018 she ran the Seniors’ Waltz at Seaford.

Karen joined the committee in October 2018. She’s golfed for over 20 years moving from West Chiltington GC to Horsham GC where she’s been Lady Captain and presently Competition Secretary.
