The 2nd Team travelled away this week to Wyke Green, Isleworth which a parkland course adjacent to Heathrow. What is it with this fixture?  Last year it drizzled and then rained!  This year, it was drizzly and then rained!

All the morning foursomes were nip and tuck and could have gone either way.  Fortunately for us, Sally Brown playing with Alison Vermes and Tracy Poulsom playing with Nikki Dudman, came in victorious while Kathy Donohoe and Sang Porter halved their match.  A great start!

When the girls teed off for the afternoon singles, the weather wasn’t too bad.  The forecast was for a bit more drizzle, then sun and then more drizzle and then brighter!  By the halfway point, we certainly had the advantage in most of the matches which won 5 out of 6, so a resounding 7½ to1½ win.

Well done girls, a promising start for the defence of the Stovold Trophy.

The next match is against Kent at Sweetwoods on Monday 31st July.
