Two Sussex teams have made it through to round 7 of the Daily Mail Foursomes competition, Mannings Heath and Willingdon. They’ll know this week who they’ll meet (hopefully not each other!) and this round must be played by 9th September.

Willingdon pair Rachel Sellence and Jan Hollands came through on the 19th hole at Chichester.  In a very close game they prevailed against a strong pairing, Kathy Donohoe and Sang Porter, both off five handicaps. Commiserations to Kathy and Sang who had an earlier tough match which had gone to a 2nd extra play-off hole and saw them win with some incredible long-distance putting!

Mannings Heath are represented by a Grand-daughter and Grandmother team with an age gap of some 56 years!  Charlotte Topping (27), plays off 9 and 83 year old Brenda James plays off 21.  Their latest match was at Woodcote Park where they won 3 & 2 and their success story has seen them in print, see the Daily Mail article below!

Well played to both pairs on reaching Round 7, particularly winning away from home, and a very good luck in your next matches!
