SCLGA LogoSandra Holman, the County Captain, has just announced our next County President and Vice Captain, both of whom will take office in November following ratification at the AGM.

Many of you will know Chris Handson as she’s been our handicap expert for many years.  Chris started playing golf back in 1990 and says she took up the game because she thought it would be easy (little did she know….. 26 years later her handicap is 11!)  She was Lady Captain at Goodwood in 2005 and is now a member of Worthing GC.

Ann Carnegie will take office as Vice Captain in November and become County Captain 2017-19.  Many of you already know Ann as she’s been our Honorary Secretary since 2010 and has done a great job in keeping everything running smoothly.

Ann took up golf in 1992 persuaded by her mother and husband to have a go, she reports that she was quickly hooked.  As a beginner she joined Selsey GC, where she says the lovely lady members helped and encouraged her to achieve a respectable 10 handicap.  She was their Lady Captain in 1994, and on joining Goodwood GC in 1995 Ann was on the ladies committee and became ladies secretary.  Now a member of Littlehampton, she was handicap secretary for two years.  Congratulations to Ann, we all look forward to continuing to work with you.
