The sun shone at the SCLGA Girls’ Spring Meeting at Ifield on Monday 14th April. Twenty nine girls took part with ages ranging from 8-18 – fantastic to see so many girls out there playing!
There was an 18 hole Scratch and Stableford competition for those with a handicap and a 9 hole special event for those who have yet to gain an official handicap. It was particularly pleasing to see five girls taking part in the main event who have gained their official handicap in the last six months – and one of those was our winner!
Winner of Spring Meeting – Millie Groves – Copthorne – 39 points
Runner- Up – Lily Margaroli – Worthing – 38 points
1st Scratch – Jelina Fernando- Pyecombe (77 ocb)
2nd Scratch – Hannah Duval- Highwoods (77)
1st Non-Handicap – Rebecca Losh – Worthing
Winner of Spring Meeting – Millie Groves (left)
1st Scratch – Jelina Fernando (right)
Many thanks go to Ifield GC for hosting this event, and as always, making us feel very welcome. Also to the team on the Junior Committee for organising and supporting this event with such enthusiasm and dedication.
At the Spring Meeting we also welcomed our new Junior Captain, Hannah Duval, seen right receiving her badge of office from outgoing Captain Elodie-Jane Yates. Very many thanks to Elodie for her great commitment and work with the girls over the last year and we wish Hannah every success in her year of Captaincy, especially as we are hosting Junior County Match Week at Goodwood this year.
