The first Junior OOM competition took place this week at Royal Ashdown Forest on their West Course in damp and overcast conditions. There were 10 entries and despite the very wet and soggy course, there were some very good scores.
New girl Lilah Sinclair won the Stableford Competition on count back with 37 points. Becky Losh came 2nd with the same number of points.
Katie Field won the Scratch competition, with Salysa Mason as runner-up.
It was great to see some new faces in the field today, with Ella Keary winning the best back 9 score, and the Junior Captain, Sasha Gardiner winning the best front 9. Ellen Nicholas showed great skills, winning both the longest drive and nearest the pin!
As always, huge thanks go the the parents for their support on and off the course, to our County Captain Ann Carnegie, and Past Captain Sandra Holman for all their hard work. Megan Edwards was also there to support the girls even though she has moved on to pastures new. And no-one deserves more thanks for their efforts than Roseanne Rees, who helped us resolve numerous major issues with the computer system.
We are all looking forward to sunshine and great golf in the months ahead.
