The Hampshire Rose which began in 1973 is a 36 hole stroke play competition, and the list of winners has included many of the finest names in amateur golf and many internationals such as Charley Hull and Georgia Hall.  The record score for the two rounds of the Hampshire Rose stands at 135 set by Miss A MacDonald in 1989 and equaled by Miss C Aitken in 2006. Last year’s winner, Gemma Clews of Delamere Forest, shot 138 (67 + 71).

There are 4 Sussex players competing in the Hampshire Rose today, and we wish them all the best of luck – Alice Barnes (West Sussex), Penny Brown (Worthing), Chelsea Masters (Highwoods) and Brandy Rook (Royal Eastbourne). Click to view the start sheet.
