Welsh golf union logoGood luck to the Sussex players heading to Wales for this year’s Welsh Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship later this week.  Youngster Penny Brown (Worthing) played amazing golf in the event last year, finishing joint 3rd place in an international field of top amateurs.

It’s being played at Conwy GC, a championship links course on the north Wales coastline on Friday 29 April-Sunday 1st May, with the top 45 qualifying for the final day’s play.

Aside from Penny, Alice Barnes (West Sussex) Chelsea Masters (Highwoods) Zhane Mayo and Brandy Rook, both from Royal Eastbourne will all be heading to Wales.  Good luck girls, we’ll be cheering for you!
