On a sunny Saturday afternoon spitfires soared over the Sussex Elite girls’ squad as they enjoyed the stunning Goodwood Downs course this weekend. This was just part of the first winter training weekend for these girls which helped them to understand the importance of excellent short game skills, how to practise those skills and how to measure their progress by keeping statistics of their shots on the course within 50 yards of the green.
Each girl was given a wall chart which highlights essential skills and preparation as well as developing an attitude which enables them to be tough and to learn quickly. Progress in these four areas will then enable the girls to perform in any environment.
All the girls have commented on how much they have learned this weekend about their games, how to practise effectively and much they enjoyed the weekend – summed up by the quote “fun and educational weekend – full of banter.”
Very many thanks to Ryan Fenwick, Sussex Girls Coach, for inspiring the girls and providing such a valuable learning experience.
