Roseanne pierWhat a wonderful day to be beside the seaside!  The sun shone over Worthing today, and the temperatures soared as Sussex took on last year’s winners of the National Finals, Hampshire.

A tried and tested partnership in Chelsea/Paula, together with newly forged partnerships in Chloe/Jelina and Aileen/Penny played some very exciting foursomes matches in the morning to have 2-1 notched on the board by lunch time.  Great to see Rita back on Aileen’s bag (and buggy!) and dad Steve out with Chelsea.

Aileen & Rita

Chelsea & dad

With all to play for in the afternoon and Chelsea out first, she came back from dormy 2 with a birdie on the 18th to secure a well fought half. Aileen closed out her nail biting match on the 18th, with Chloe playing some great golf to secure a comfortable win.  Katherine, playing anchor in the singles again, had a fantastic eagle on the par 5 16th hole (which sadly she didn’t get to see go in!) to help her close out her match 3&1.

HampshiExec cheerleadersre were really tough competition, and the match was played in great sporting spirit, our three top cheerleaders found it a delight to watch as we secured a 5.5-3.5 win.

We saw truly glorious conditions, with the course and its wildflowers looking its very best.   Everything is lined up for a truly thrilling final day on Friday, with Sussex playing Surrey, foursomes start 9.05, singles from 14.04.
