Division Match Format
25th November 2011
A question was raised at the AGM regarding the possibility of Division matches being played off full handicap allowance in future instead of scratch. The County Captain thanked the lady concerned and assured her that the matter would be discussed in committee.
During our committee meeting this week, the matter was discussed and the overwhelming decision of the committee ,after much discussion, was to leave the very successful and popular division matches without alteration to the format. All Division matches, with the exception of Division 4/Mini League will therefore remain a scratch competiton.

Advance Notice - Distance Measuring Devices for 2012
16th May 2011
After considerable thought, The County Captain and the County Executive Committee have decided to allow DMDs in all county competitions in 2012. The R & A allow the use of these devices provided there is a local rule in place. All county competition rules and regulations will, therefore, be amended ready for the 2012 Sussex county golf season.
This ruling will come into force after the Sussex County AGM on 7th November 2011.
Please be aware that DISTANCE measuring devices only will be allowed. NO devices that show wind strength, gradient, temperature etc or any other information which will assist in the playing of the shot (i.e. recommended line of putt) will be allowed. The use of such a device would be a breach of Rule 14.3.
