Happy New Year

Although it’s a quiet time of year in the golfing calendar, the County Executive are busy planning all the events for 2012. In response to your feedback, we’ve put more new and fun events into the diary, including two of the highly popular Rumbles, a Ladies’ Invitation to Gentleman at Sweetwoods on the June bank holiday and an Autumn Bowmaker later in the year. The dates are all in the web site calendar (2nd tab along the top) and application forms will be available in the County Card which is out in February – so get the dates in your diary and ask your friends! We had to cancel several events last year due to disappointing numbers, you can have a great day out for £30 so please make a big effort to support your county in 2012.
I’m sure you’ve made your new year’s resolution, but perhaps you’d like to think about adding a golfing one to your list….. how about:
- Making time to take a new member or beginner under your wing, to support and encourage them with their game and introduce them to new people – it’s a tough game, we all need support!
- Signing up to play with different people in your competitions - always a great way to meet new people and get to know other members of your club better
- Committing some time to practicing that shot you’ve never been confident with, so you can shave a couple off your handicap during 2012
