Katharine Harridge 1962 – 2011
It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Katharine Harridge passed away just before Christmas. As a member of West Sussex Golf Club, many of you will know her from her years as part of the County team, both as a player and latterly as Team Manager.

- 1976 Whilst a member of Cowdray Park (and later of West Sussex), great talent and ability for the game was shown. Subsequently Katharine was invited to attend the new Sussex County Training programme at Piltdown with John Amos. Talented friends Mary Gallagher and Caroline Pearce attended, also from Cowdray Park. All 3 girls were greatly encouraged by their golfing fathers and soon came under the guidance of county player Audrey Butler.
- 1977 Winner of The Aer Lingus Schools Championship with Caroline Pearce, representing Midhurst Grammar School.
- 1977 Sussex Girls Championship – Runner up to Sue Bamford
- 1978 Sussex Girls Championship – Runner up to Caroline Pearce
- 1979 Sussex Championship – Runner up to Shirley Sutton at Worthing
- 1980 Sussex Girls Champion
- 1981 Sussex Championship – Runner up to Carol Larkin.
- Selected for Girls’ Home International Matches . These matches were played between England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
- 1987 Reserve English Team
- 1984-88 County Representative SE ELGA
- 1990-91 Captain English Girls’ Home Internationals
- County Team member for 14 years.
