England GolfThe English Senior Women’s Amateur Championship is being played this week at Ross on Wye.  With over a hundred of the country’s top seniors playing, the event is 36 holes stroke play over two days, followed by two flights of matchplay.

After a weather delay and playing in challenging conditions with heavy rain, there was a great first day’s performance from Katherine Russell (Royal Ashdown Forest) who is tied top of the leaderboard at +1 (74 against CSS 77).  Pyecombe’s Aileen Greenfield is currently joint 11th.  Good luck to all the Sussex competitors on the second day.
